Five Bells Cottage is a beautifully restored Grade 2 listed 17th-century Cotswold stone cottage, set on a quiet lane directly opposite the village’s handsome Norman church. Recently renovated from top to bottom to an exceptional standard, the cottage blends historic character with contemporary comfort. Exposed beams, original features and higher-than-usual ceilings give the house a light, airy feel, while carefully chosen furnishings and finishes create the relaxed luxury of a boutique hotel.
The cottage sleeps up to six guests in three spacious double bedrooms, each with its own stylish en-suite shower room. All bathrooms benefit from underfloor heating, and a secondary hot-water system ensures instant hot water throughout the house. Guests can look forward to comfortable beds, powerful showers and thoughtful touches designed to make every stay effortless and enjoyable. Please note that the king-size bedroom is reached via a steep staircase, typical of a property of this age.
At the heart of the home is the newly extended bespoke kitchen and dining area. This high-quality painted wooden kitchen features an electric Aga, integrated fridge-freezer with ice maker, breakfast bar and a dining table that comfortably seats six. French doors open onto the sunny, fully enclosed walled garden, which has been newly landscaped and furnished with a Barlow Tyrie table and chairs — perfect for outdoor meals, morning coffee or evening drinks. A brick-built barbecue is also provided for relaxed summer dining.
The sitting room and hall/snug each have a Clearview log burner, creating warm and inviting spaces to unwind after a day exploring the countryside. Additional facilities include a downstairs cloakroom, a utility room with sink, and underfloor heating in the kitchen and dining area for year-round comfort. Free parking is available on the quiet lane just outside the cottage.
Outside, the garden offers a peaceful and private retreat, ideal for both sunny afternoons and cosy evenings. Guests will also receive a generous welcome pack for stays of two nights or more, including a bottle of fizz, milk, tea, coffee pods, eggs, artisan bread, biscuits and butter — everything you need to settle in from the moment you arrive.
